ANESTHESIA TECHNOLOGY
The Two Year Diploma Course enable students are Allied Health personnel, Who
Play a Variety of supporting roles in Health care. This course provide an overview
of basic Health Care issues, followed by training in a few specific testing and
Procedural skills.
This program trains candidates to perform the many tasks performed by medical Technicians working in clinical Laboratories, Emergency, and wards or in hospitals settings. They learn how to prepare specimens, operate testing machinery, chart results and prepare samples for review by a physician or other specialists.
They may also run diagnostics to ensure the equipment is functioning properly. Training also includes stocking surgical rooms and assisting medical personnel in a variety of ways.
The Anesthesia Technician program prepares the student to be an integral member of the anesthesia patient care team. Emphasis is on fundamental and advanced clinical procedures to assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation, and application of various types of equipment required for the delivery of anesthesia care. Job responsibilities may include equipment maintenance and servicing such as cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, and recording of inspections and maintenance. In addition, the anesthesia Technician will assist licensed anesthesia providers with patient assessments, evaluations, transport, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines, and airway management.
Eligibility :
Matric Science with at least 50% Marks
Matric Science with 45% with F.Sc Pre Medical 50% Marks.
Age Limit 30 Years.
